Moncaro: Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore
Vineyard region: Marche region, province of Ascoli Piceno.
Location of the vines: in the area of the vintage Rosso Piceno Superior.
Grapes: Montepulciano 70% and Sangiovese 30%.
System of growing: Double upside down and spurred row.
Planting density: 1700-3500 plants per hectare.
Yield per hectare: 8000-9000 Kg. of grapes.
Age of the vines: 8-3- Years.
Soil: Average mix, tending towards limestone.
Exposure and altitude: hill areas sloping down to the sea, with average altitude of 150-350 metresabove sea level.
Alcohol gradation: 13% of the volume.
Winemaking: In fermentation tanks, with prolonged maceration of the grape pulp, followed byrefinement for a year in oak barrels. The maturation in bottles lasts for a year.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red colour with maroon tints, flowery bouquet, broad and airy, with hints ofspices. Taste, tart, gentle but solid, with hints of fruity scents and dried red flowers.
Preservation: should be consumed at least two years following harvesting.
